A Community Partner Program. For Teens and Adults. Registration required.

Tatreez is the Arabic word for embroidery and in Palestine, this ancient and indigenous art is still practiced and preserved.

Tatreez Jenin workshops are hands-on embroidery workshops. This tatreez workshop will consist of an educational portion of the historical significance of tatreez in Palestinian culture as well as practice the art form. During the presentation, participants will learn about the diversity of different embroidery styles and dresses in Palestine as well as the significance of preserving tatreez. Afterwards, participants will have step-by-step instruction from Jenin who will begin with teaching students how to thread their needle and continue to guide students to complete their design. By the end of the workshop, attendees will take home their finished piece, extra supplies and have built lasting community connections through engaging discussions with peers.
